Position Details

Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, is a growing community of approximately 22,000 residents seeking to fill Entry or Lateral Police Officer positions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• U.S. citizen
• Minimum age - 18
• Valid driver's license
• Good driving record
• Good physical condition
• High school diploma
• 60 college credits required
• Ability to possess a firearm
• No felony convictions
• No domestic abuse convictions
• Vision correctable to 20/20
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
• Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Clear and concise speech
• Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously
• Ability to perform essential functions of this position
• Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment

LATERAL TRANSFERS:

The Village of Pleasant Prairie accepts lateral transfers from qualified law enforcement officers from municipal, county and state law enforcement agencies. Corrections, reserve officer, security officer, and federal officer experience does not fulfill the requirement for certified police experience as a lateral applicant. Officers may be hired under the lateral transfer agreement at the discretion of the Chief of Police and the Village of Pleasant Prairie.
