• Entry Level Starting Salary: $65,000.00

  Lateral Starting Salary: Up to $74,419.00 based on qualifications and years of service in good standing. Lateral candidates may begin at step 3 in the salary schedule 

  Top Officer Salary at step 8 effective 5/1/22: $95,840.00

  The Village of Lakemoor offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits plan to its full-time police officers which include:

  • Employer contributions to medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; The employer pays 90% and the employee pays 10%
  • 40 hours of paid vacation accrued after 6 months of employment with another 40 hours accrued upon the completion of one year
  • 12 paid holidays
  • 3 personal days
  • Paid sick leave and bereavement leave
  • 12-hour shifts non-rotating and bid by seniority each year. Days 7 am – 7 pm, Nights 7 pm 7 am
  • Yearly uniform allowance of $850.00 after the first year
  • Initial issue of all duty gear (except duty weapon which is employee-owned), uniforms, and issued body armor
  • Field Training Officer (FTO) compensation
  • Eligibility for compensatory time and overtime pay

Position Details

Qualifications:

• Be a municipal police officer, county sheriff's deputy, or Illinois state trooper in good standing and off probation at current department
• Have a valid driver's license
• Currently certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board Possess substantially equivalent skills and abilities as a current Lakemoor Police Officer
• Good morals/ethics and possess excellent integrity
