Position Details

IMMEDIATE OPENINGS

The Glenwood Police Department is seeking experienced state certified Police Officers interested in Part-Time employment.

Job Duties:

• Respond to calls for service
• Enforce traffic laws, criminal laws, and local ordinances
• Provide emergency response as needed
• Traffic control and security at public events
• Write accurate reports
• Attend court as needed
• Prisoner transports
• Handle other duties as assigned 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Illinois certified police officer (academy trained) and meet the requirements for the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board for certified Police Officer.
• Available to work weekends, holidays, and day/ afternoon/night shifts
• Minimum of 32 hours per month
• Proficient in basic computer skills
• U.S. Citizen
• High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Valid Driver's License
• No record of conviction of a felony or misdemeanor as identified in the Illinois Police Training Act.
• Pass a background check, interview, and medical exam.
• Complete a Reimbursement Agreement for costs incurred by the Village of Glenwood, should the applicant voluntarily leave the police department within the first twelve months of employment.
