Salary:

• Starting: $65,771 with a COLA raise to $66,758 on December 1, 2022

  Firefighters work a 24-hour shift followed by 48 hours off-duty.

  Kelly Day is scheduled off every 18th duty day.

  Compensatory time can be earned for hours worked above the normal scheduled 24/48 shift (overtime).

  Firefighters are granted six (6) holidays per year (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, and July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas). These are earned and can be used during the first year of employment.

  The District offers a comprehensive and very competitive benefit plan including:

  • District funded HSA health plan
  • Additionally, vision, dental, long-term disability, and life insurance are all offered
  • Sick leave accrues on a monthly basis at the rate of 12 hours per month with no maximum accrual of hours. Sick time buy back is available. Sick time incentives ($500 annual incentive-non pensionable)
  • Longevity stipends - ten-year anniversary of full-time employment (this becomes pensionable salary upon retirement)

Applicants have the ability to schedule testing at their own convenience!!

Applicants are required to complete the Public Safety Self-Assessment (PSSA) with National Testing Network to be considered.
