Position Details

LATERAL HIRE POSITIONS OPEN

Wauconda Police Department is establishing a lateral entry list.

Application Period:

Will begin on or after November 18th and will conclude December 19, 2022 at 1700 hours.

Requirements:

• Valid state-issued driver's license;
• Must be employed, whether currently or in the past, for at least 24 months as a full time sworn law enforcement officer in a regular police department in any municipal, county, university, or State law enforcement agency and is certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board ("ILETSB");
• Applicants must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Must currently serve as a full-time sworn law enforcement officer in good standing for a municipality or public law enforcement agency in a comparable position.
• Must have a minimum two years of full-time experience.
• Must have successfully completed the Illinois Basic Law Enforcement Academy and possess certification from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board or have the ability to be qualified to be certified (by full-academy waiver) by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.
• Must possess an associate's degree or 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of college credit from an accredited degree granting college or university.
• No felony convictions (Note: a misdemeanor or serious traffic offense may also disqualify applicants)
