Current Police Officer Work Schedule:
12 hour schedule, assignment to a.m. watch or p.m. watch, 2 days on-duty, 2 days off-duty, 3 days on-duty, 2 days off-duty, 2 days on-duty and then 3 days off-duty. This format permits all officers assigned to the Patrol Division to have Friday, Saturday and Sunday off every other week.

Residency Requirement:
Within 12 months of probationary hire, officers are required to reside within the area bounded by Lake Michigan on the east, Interstate 39/51 on the west, the Wisconsin border on the north, and Interstate 80 on the south.
Qualifications:
- Current status as a sworn officer in a municipality, county sheriff's deputy or Illinois State Trooper for one year after completion of a probationary period who possesses a full-time State of Illinois Law Enforcement Officer certification by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board; and
- Currently in good standing in the police department in which the person serves; and
- Possesses substantially equivalent skills and abilities as a Village of Streamwood Police Officer who has completed the probationary period, as determined by the Village; and
- Possesses an Associate Degree or 60 semester hours of credit from an institution accredited by the US Department of Education; and
- Must agree to comply with all requirements of the position and have the ability to pass such examinations as the Streamwood Board of Fire and Police Commissioners deem necessary to determine fitness for duty as a police officer; and
- Must be a United States citizen, at least 21 years of age, and possess a valid Illinois Driver's License.
