Position Details

Gilberts Community Service Officers are non sworn members of the Police Department.

Duties will include a variety of field and office work in support of police operations.

The position of Community Service Officer is a part time position with a minimum of 24 hours a week. The work schedule is mostly week days but may involve working afternoons, evenings, weekends, holidays and possible call outs.

Requirements:

• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must have a valid Illinois drivers license with an acceptable driving record
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be of good moral character and temperament
• Must satisfactorily submit to and pass a thorough background investigation
• Must be able to operate personal computers, motor vehicles, telephones, radios, speed trailer fax and copy machines
• Must have the ability to learn and maintain knowledge of Village ordinances and State Statutes
• Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Must have the ability to learn Village streets
• Must be willing to work in all types of weather conditions
