9 AM - 5 PM

3rd Monday of the month

A $35.00 non-refundable Administrative Fee will be charged per application, can be paid in cash, check or charge. Completed applications and forms must be received by the Worth Police & Fire Commission at the above address by January 27, 2023 by 5:00 PM. Applications will not be mailed to applicants.

Registration starts at 5:30 PM

Orientation starts at 6 PM

You must be on time and show your driver’s license. THE DOORS WILL BE LOCKED AT 6 PM.

Written Examination:

The written test will be available to take from February 6, 2023 - February 17, 2023.

Information will be provided during Orientation.

Applicants must:

• Be a citizen of the United States
• Be able to speak and read the English Language
• Minimum 21 - 35 years of age (unless otherwise provided by Statute)
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver’s License
• Be of good moral character and be able to perform all the duties and tasks assigned to a Worth Police Officer.
• Be free from the use of illegal drugs.

Applicants must successfully pass:

• Written exam
• Polygraph exam
• Drug screen
• Oral interview
• Background investigation

Applicants must also meet the criteria established by Illinois State Statutes and the Worth Police and Fire Commissioners.

After a conditional job offer, but prior to actual employment, a candidate must pass a medical exam and psychological exam, all in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Please Note: To any person who is entitled to military, educational, or law enforcement preference points whose names appear on the register of eligible, the Board shall add five (5) points (Sections 5/0-2.1-8 and 5/10-2.1-9) upon request of the applicant. Such preference points shall not be cumulative.
