Position Details

Qualifications: 

• Applicants must be a citizen of the United States, or a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient.
• Applicants must meet all other eligibility requirements as provided in the Illinois Compiled Statutes and the Rules and Regulations of the Blue Island Civil Service Commission.
• Applicants must have attained their 21st birthday but not attained their 35th birthday by the date of appointment (unless otherwise exempt by Illinois Statute).
• Applicants must possess a valid driver's license.
• Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
• Applicants must possess a valid P.O.W.E.R. card issued no more than twelve (12) months prior to March 18, 2023, from a duly licensed training academy.

The application must include:

• Copies of driver's license, birth certificate, valid P.O.W.E.R. card, and high school diploma or equivalent, EAD (if applicable)
• Copy of Certificate of Completion of Minimum Standards Basic Law Enforcement Training (if applicable).
• Copies of DD-214 (if applicable), o SEALED original official college transcripts (if applicable).
