The Security Officer is responsible for the security of the University and its property and may be scheduled to work on holidays and weekends. The position reports to the Security Shift Supervisor. The hours of this position will be Monday through Friday from 11:30 pm - 8:00 am.
Midwestern University Safety and Security Officers will complete training related to the Jeanne Clery Act, possessing an understanding of the Cleary Act itself and their role as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSA's by virtue of their university responsibilities and under the Clery Act, are designated to receive and report Clery Crimes to the Department of Safety and Security so that they may be included and published in the university's Annual Security Report.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk 5 to 10 miles per day, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, walk up and down stairs, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and sit. The employee must frequently lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, regularly lift 35lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
