Starting: $19.67/hour ($40,913.60 annualized)
Most starting dispatchers make closer to $50k a year with Holiday Pay.
The position also includes longevity pay increases, and as a union position, sees consistent annual pay increases.
There is a paid 10-week training program which must be completed in order to successfully assume the role as a dispatcher.
This position comes with a significant benefit and retirement package, so it should be looked at as more than just a paycheck, and more as something you can get a retirement from through the state of Illinois.

Some basics however....
Our dispatchers currently work 12 hours a shift, with a 4-hour block on Wednesdays. The 12-hour shifts equate to only working half the year, for full years pay. You average 3.5 days a week on 12's. There are many OT opportunities for events like football games or shift coverages.
