Position Details

The Village of Itasca is seeking qualified candidates to fill the full-time position of Administrative Assistant.

The Administrative Assistant is a key position in the Police Department reporting to the Director of Police.

• This position provides administrative support to the police department including maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of privileged information, assisting the police management staff with various routine and complex administrative work, and coordinating payroll for the police department.
• This position processes orders and department invoices and works closely with accounts payable.
• The Administrative Assistant maintains good working relationships with other department heads, village officials, village commissions and boards as well as all village employees. 

The successful candidate will:

• Possess the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Be able to effectively prioritize their work
• Possess strong organizational skills
• Must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office 

This position requires:

• A high school diploma or equivalent with some college coursework completed
• A minimum of two years directly relevant experience is required, preferably in a municipal setting
• A valid state driver’s license or the ability to obtain one is required
