Position Details

The East Dundee, Illinois Police Department is seeking exceptional, ethical candidates to join the ranks of our full-time police officers.  Successful candidates will have high integrity, be committed to engaging with our community, be capable of providing fair treatment and equal protection to all people, will show compassion and respect to all people, will rise to a higher standard of conduct both on and off the job, and seek continuous personal and professional growth.

Testing is being conducted to establish a new eligibility list for future hiring needs.

Certificate, College or University Degree and transcript of course work from accredited College or University.

You must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Citizenship:  Must be a citizen of the United States.
• Driver’s License:  Must have a valid Illinois Driver’s License upon time of hire.
• Age Requirement:  Applicants must be at least 20 and under 41 years of age (unless already a police officer) 
• Education:  Must have proof of a High School Diploma, or GED Certificate or High School Proficiency Statement AND shall have received a minimum of an Associate’s Degree, or shall have completed 48 credit hours in a semester system or 60 credit hours in a quarter system (with grade C or better) from an accredited college or university.
• Character:  Must have no felony convictions and be of good moral character as described in State Statute 65 IL 5/10-2.1-6.
• Vision: Correctable to 20/30
• POWER Test Card: Submit proof of passing the Illinois POWER test within the year (considered valid from 08/30/18 to 08/30/19). • Residence:  No residency requirement
