BACKGROUND:

The Village of Fox Lake (population 10,700) is located 55 miles northwest of downtown Chicago and 20 miles west of Waukegan, Illinois. Fox Lake is located in Lake and McHenry counties. The Village is located on the South Shore of Pistakee Lake, Nippersink Lake, and Fox Lake, three connected water bodies that form part of the Chain O’Lakes system. The Village of Fox Lake has a total area of 9.942 square miles of which around 20% is water.

The Village of Fox Lake is seeking interested applicants for the position of Telecommunicator, for the Village’s FoxComm 911 Center.

FoxComm 911 Center is an Accredited Center of Excellence awarded by the International Academy of Emergency Dispatch operating a multi- agency 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point owned by the Village of Fox Lake that provides police, fire and EMS communications for four Police Departments and two Fire Protection Districts. FoxComm utilizes computer aided dispatch, Zetron Max touch screen radio software and Solacom phone system and provides Emergency Dispatch instructions for medical and fire via the Priority Dispatch Systems.

FoxComm is a 24 hour, 7 days a week operation and applicants must have the desire and ability to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.
