Bensenville Fire Protection District No. 2 is conducting a mandatory orientation JULY 30TH AT 19:00, Station 107. Please park on the west end of the Parking lot behind Station 107. The written examination to establish a two year eligibility list for the position of Firefighter-Paramedic will be August 17, 2019. Check-in will begin at 9:30 a.m at the Bensenville Library, 200 S Church Rd, Bensenville, IL 60106. A PICTURE ID REQUIRED. Applicants must meet all requirements of the District for hire: BY DATE OF HIRE: no exceptions will be allowed respective to the general requirements listed below.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS AS OF DATE OF HIRE:

• 45 college credits or equivalent: EMT B, EMT PARAMEDIC AND FF BASIC meets the educational requirements.
• Valid Drivers license
• Must be between the age of 21 years and less than 35 years of age at time of hire unless previous firefighter experience (last 2 years) meeting statutory exceptions of 70 ILCS 705-16.06 or military at age 35 then less than 40 years of age.
• U.S. Citizen or must meet requirements of Illinois Human Rights Act for citizenship
• Must have a valid CPAT card with in 1 year of hire date
• Have a State of Illinois Paramedic license
• Have a State of Illinois Firefighter II/BASIC certification through the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
• Must pass all selection and training requirements to be hired.
• Passing for the examination(s) is 70%.
• Written test accounts for 60% and oral 40% to qualify for hiring list.

• All required forms must be postmarked or returned to 500 S. York Road, Bensenville, IL 60106 during office hours by July 29th at 17:00.
• Required forms submitted after the deadline or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
