Testing Information:

You will have the option to take the exam in-person or in a virtual setting. You must select which method you would like to take the exam at time of application.

Minimum Requirements:

• $25 non-refundable application fee.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
• 21 to under 35 years of age by date of exam (July 29th, 2023), unless otherwise exempt by state statute.
• No felony convictions.
• U.S. Citizen.
• Valid driver's license.
• Current and Valid IDPH EMT-Paramedic license at time of application.
• Correctable vision to 20/20 and free from color blindness.
• Must have successfully completed the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) and Aerial Ladder Climb Exercise within a ONE YEAR PERIOD prior to the application deadline.
• Applicants who have not taken the CPAT test and Aerial Ladder Climb Exercise may obtain certificate of completion from one of the following licensed agencies:
