Police Entry Eligibility Test

Police Officer applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Citizenship:  Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Driver’s License:  Must have a valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain an Illinois Driver’s License upon hiring.
• Age Requirements:  Applicants must be at least 21 years of age AND under the age of 35 at the time of application. Applicants must be under the age of 35 on (6/24/23) and when the final eligibility list is posted unless they have been certified and employed as a Full-Time Law Enforcement Officer for a municipality in the United States or are otherwise exempt by State Statute 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1.
• Education:  Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Character:  Must have no felony convictions and be of good moral character.
• Testing:  Must be able to participate and successfully complete all stages of the testing process.
• Vision:  Eyesight must be correctable to 20/20, normal peripheral vision, no impairment of color blindness.
• P.O.W.E.R. Card:  Candidates are NOT required to have a valid P.O.W.E.R. Card to apply and take the written examination. Candidates who pass the written examination will be invited back at a later date to perform the POWER test. 
• Work hours:  Applicant must be able to regularly work twelve-hour shifts with the possibility of working other hours/shifts as needed.  Must also be able to work weekends and holidays.

There is no fee to the applicants for the Montgomery Police Application.

The Montgomery Police Department will offer 2 test dates:

Applicants must choose one mandatory test date to attend when submitting the application:

Saturday, June 24th

Orientation/Written Exam begin promptly at 9:00 AM

OR

Tuesday, June 27th

Orientation/ Written Exam begin promptly at 6:00 PM

Examination results will be compiled from both test dates to create (1) initial eligibility list.
