  Starting: anticipated to be $57,730 - $65,000 DOQ

Position Details

The Village of Oswego and United City of Yorkville Police Departments are seeking a Training Coordinator to manage public safety training for each community's respective police departments.

This position works as a shared employee under an intergovernmental agreement, coordinating police department training in compliance with local, state and federal requirements.

An ideal candidate will have an understanding of employee training, police operations and a strong attention to detail.

As an employee under a shared-services agreement, the employee will also seek opportunities for shared training opportunities and intergovernmental collaboration.

The Training Coordinator:

• Will have responsibility for preparing and executing annual training calendars for both departments, ensuring compliance with MTU regulations, department policy, Illinois Police Accreditation requirements and CALEA accreditation requirements.
• This position will be expected to stay current with law enforcement best practices, law changes and technology.
• Work includes managing training schedule, budget, expense tracking, and maintaining training records.
• The training coordinator will also seek and apply for public safety grants.

Position requires:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least three years of police or municipal government experience
• Valid Illinois driver's license

The selection process includes:

• Personal interview
• Polygraph examination
• Pre-employment physical and drug screen
• Background check
