Position Details

Functions with technical independence as an expert communications technician responsible for the maintenance and repair of radio communications and other associated equipment utilized by public safety agencies of the County.

Work is performed under the general supervision of the radio system manager. Assignments are typically received in the form of general instructions, and the incumbent is expected to organize the details of assignments and carry them through to completion. Work is periodically reviewed through conferences, inspections, and reports for results obtained.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with coursework in electricity, electronics, and communications systems
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in land mobile two-way communications servicing work involving the diagnosis and repair of electronic circuitry at the component level, calibration and adjustment of receiver and transmitter equipment, and other electronic equipment
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience
