Notice is hereby given that Norridge Board of Fire and Police Commissioners will be conducting examinations to establish a primary eligibility list of qualified candidates for the Norridge Police Department according to the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Fire & Police Commissioners, Village of Norridge, Illinois as adopted September 8, 1972, amended May 9, 2023 and effective June 9, 2023.
Applicant Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a citizen of the United States.
- Applicants must have at minimum an associate degree or the equivalent of at least 60 credit hours from an accredited college, university or junior college, or bachelor’s degree (preferred) from an accredited College or University by the time of conditional job offer. Previous experience as a State of Illinois Certified Police Officer is acceptable.
- Must have attained their 23rd birthday by September 18, 2023 and be under the age of 35 by the initial eligibility roster date of (12/21/23), or applicants who are currently police offices, or have previously been police officers, who are under the age of 40 and meet the exemption set forth in the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners Act (Illinois Compiled Statutes 65ILCS5/10-2.1-6).
- Must have eyesight at least 20/20 corrected, without any color blindness or other eye abnormality.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be of good moral character.
