MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 21 to 34 years of age, or as otherwise provided in 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-6
• U.S. Citizen
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to obtain a valid Illinois Firearm Owners Identification Card
• Good moral character
• Successfully pass:
• Written examination
• P.O.W.E.R. test
• Oral interview
• Pre-employment background investigation
• Psychological exam
• Polygraph exam
• Medical exam
• No felony or certain misdemeanor convictions

WRITTEN EXAMINATION:

Following the orientation a written test will be administered.

Applicants must present a valid government-issued photo identification card for entry into the testing area.

ADDITIONAL EXAMINATIONS: 

Applicants who successfully complete the physical agility test and written examination will be required to submit to additional testing, including:

• Oral interviews
• Pre-employment background investigation
• Psychological assessment
• Polygraph examination
• Medical examination
