Position Details

Qualifications: 

• Applicants must be a citizen of the United States, or a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient.
• Applicants must meet all other eligibility requirements as provided in the Illinois Compiled Statutes and the Rules and Regulations of the Blue Island Civil Service Commission.
• Applicants must have attained their 21st birthday but not attained their 35th birthday by the date of appointment (unless otherwise, as provided in Section 10-1-7 of the Illinois Municipal Code 65 ICLS 5/10-1-7).
• Applicants must possess a valid driver's license.
• Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
• Applicants must possess a valid P.O.W.E.R. card issued no more than twelve (12) months prior to November 11, 2023, from a duly licensed training academy.

• Copy of Certificate of Completion of Minimum Standards Basic Law Enforcement Training (if applicable).
