  SHIFT DESCRIPTION:

  The Dispatch Center operates under two teams of 12 hour shifts, with a 14 day rotation. Shift A: 7:00am - 7:00pm, Shift B: 7:00pm - 7:00am. Week 1 - Work: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Week 2 - Work: Sunday, Wednesday Thursday. Dispatchers are required, on occasion to work 16 consecutive hours and are required to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, and must be available for shift coverage with short notice.

CenCom E9-1-1 Public Safety Communications Center is a Consolidated Communications Center located in Round Lake Beach, IL. Providing dispatch services for seven Public Safety Agencies for primary dispatch of Police, Fire and EMS and also serves as the MABAS Division 4 communications dispatch.

CenCom is seeking full-time 911 Public Safety Telecommunicators to become part of the CenCom team.

The opportunity to submit an application for employment is currently open ended, with periodic opportunities for testing and advancement in the recruitment process.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• The operation of the emergency telephone system and radio communications systems and dispatching of all calls for police, fire and emergency medical service.
• Receive and transmit any official information called for with speed and accuracy.
• Efficiently operate all communications center equipment, including radios, telephones, computer terminals, intercom system, audio and video tape recorders, copier, fax machine and typewriter.
• Promptly and courteously communicate with and aid persons seeking assistance or information.
• Periodically conduct a video check of incarcerated prisoners in the CenCom Detention Facility.
• Successfully complete our Communications Training program.
