Position Details

The Calumet Park Fire Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Part-Time Firefighter/Paramedic.

The position requires members to work 12 or 24-hour shifts with an hourly pay rate of $25.00. Shifts are scheduled monthly based on 24-hour preference, seniority, and member's availability.

Part-Time members are eligible to earn Preference Points for the Fire Departments Full-Time eligibility register.

Necessary Qualifications:

• Applicant must be at least 21 years of age
• Be a citizen of the United States
• No felony convictions
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Possess a valid Driver's License
• Be certified as a Basic Operations Firefighter or Firefighter II through the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal
• State of Illinois (IDPH) licensed Paramedic
• Current CPAT and Ladder Climb is preferred 

Job Description:

• Candidates will be responsible for department vehicles and equipment
• Candidates will be responsible for patient care and completing all necessary patient care report forms
• Candidates will perform interior and exterior structural firefighting operations
• Candidates will be required to become familiar with department vehicles, operations, and Region SMO's
• Candidates will report to the Shift Lieutenant while on duty
• Other duties as assigned
