Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• 60 semester hours of credit from an accredited institution at time of hire, or 45 semester hours of credit with 2 years of continuous active-duty military service, or 30 semester hours of credit with 4 years of continuous active-duty military service
• Have vision correctable to 20/20
• United States citizen
• Valid Driver’s License
• Pass all stages of the hiring process
• Must reside within a 30-mile radius within 18 months of hire

Bolingbrook Police Department-Entry Level

The Bolingbrook Police Department will be accepting applications for the position of Police Officer until January 5, 2024 at 2:00 PM for entry level applicants who are not current law enforcement officers.

See below lateral hire information if you are already a police officer.

You must meet the following minimum requirements:

• High school diploma or GED and 60 semester hours of credit from an accredited institution at time of hire, some military exceptions apply;
• 21 years old by date of hire; maximum age of 34 years at time of appointment (unless otherwise exempt by Illinois Statute);
• United States citizen;
• Valid Driver’s License;
• Valid Illinois Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) Card at time of background phase;
• Applicants must submit proof of passing the POWER Test at time of background phase.

Oral Interview Information:

Mandatory interviews by the Fire and Police Board are scheduled for:

Weeks of January 15, 2024 and January 22, 2024

Interview times will be assigned upon successful completion of the written exam.
