PART-TIME OFFICERS

The Village of Prairie Grove, McHenry County, Illinois (Pop. 1,917) is seeking applicants for Part-Time Police Officers with State Certification to work weekday, weekend, afternoon and/or midnight shifts.

Salary:

$19.00/hour

Job Requirements:

• Must be certified by the State of Illinois (ILETSB) as a Police Officer
• Available for a minimum of 4 shifts per month

General Duties:

• Perform a variety of law enforcement duties. Enforce Federal, State and Local Village Ordinances
• Operate and maintain control of an emergency vehicle in normal, emergency conditions
• Provide routine patrol duties for the purpose of preventing, detecting and responding to suspicious or illegal activity
• Knowledge of criminal and traffic laws and procedures
• Prepare detailed police reports and documents in a timely fashion
• Appear in court as a witness / complainant to provide testimony
• Arrest suspects involved in a misdemeanor / felony criminal activity
• Self motivated able to work independently
• Basic computer skills
