Position Details

The City is now accepting applications for the position of Police Officer (Entry Level). 

We're looking for the officer who wishes to succeed in a professional and highly regarded police agency and who seeks to build relationships with the community and fellow officers.

Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship
• Valid driver's license
• Between the ages of 21 and 34 by examination date.
• Valid POWER test completion (January 12, 2023 - January 12, 2024)
• High school graduate or GED
• 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of college at an accredited college or university OR have completed 4 years of continuous military service
• Must be physically able to perform the essential job function of the position of police officer
• The applicant must speak and understand English language sufficiently to successfully undertake and discharge all duties of Police Officer

Upcoming POWER test dates in the area can be found below. Candidates must register for and complete the POWER test independently. Proof of completion must be submitted prior to application deadline of January 12, 2024.

Submit the following as attachments to your application:

• Copy of High School Diploma or equivalent (required even with college transcript)
• Copy of Valid Driver's License (required)
• Copy of Birth Record as Proof of Citizenship (required and must be certified)
• Copy of DD-214 Long Form showing 4 years continuous service OR copy of Official College / University Transcripts (required) showing 60 semester credit hours
• Copy of valid POWER card
