Position Details
All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements established by the City of Prospect Heights:
US Citizen
Valid Driver’s License
Not less than 21 years of age at time of employment
Vision Correctable to 20/20 in both eyes
Able to read/write the English language
Pass medical exam including drug screening
Possesses substantially equivalent skills and abilities as a City of Prospect Heights Police Officer who has completed the probationary period, as determined by the City
Candidates must have at least 12 months of non-probationary law enforcement experience
Taken and passed such examinations as the Commission deems necessary to determine fitness for duty as a Police Officer
Completed an in state full time Basic Law Enforcement Training Course or attended an out of state Basic Law Enforcement Training Course and receive a waiver from the ILETSB.
Be a certified police officer in good standing, having been certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board under Section 8.1 of the Illinois Police Training Act (50 ILCS 705/8.1), and
Currently working as, a full-time police officer in good standings for an Illinois law enforcement agency; or
Has left his/her agency in good standing.
