Alsip is now accepting applications for Entry Level Law Enforcement Officers.
The Alsip Police Department strives for excellence in Law Enforcement. Their main goal is to keep their community safe for the citizens of Alsip, Illinois.
Testing is being conducted for new hires, immediate opening, and to establish an eligibility list for anticipated future hiring needs.

The following are mandatory minimum requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship and/or legal permanent resident of the United States
- Possess a valid driver’s license and qualify for Illinois license prior to written test
- Applicant must be at least 20 years old and under the age of 35 years on the above application deadline date. and at such time as the final eligibility list is posted, unless exempt by State Statute 65 IL 5/10-2.1-6 (d), which provides in part that the age limitation does not apply to any person previously employed as a Certified (full-time) Law Enforcement Officer in a municipality in the United States.
- Applicant must be a minimum of 21 years old to be hired as police officer.
- Must produce birth certificate, DD 214, if applicable, High School Diploma, or GED Certificate.
- Acquire Illinois residency within 18-month probationary period.
- Successfully complete all mandatory phases of testing. Failure to achieve minimum passing grade in any examination disqualifies the applicant from further participation. Minimum passing grade for written test is 70; Oral interview is 65. Final grade is 55% written score and 45% oral interview plus preference points, if any.
- Possess and produce a valid Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report Card from a certified testing agency prior to February 27, 2024
- P.O.W.E.R. CARD may be required for all certified Illinois Peace Officer candidates.
- Military, educational or law enforcement preference points may be available pursuant to 65 IL 5/10-2.1-8 & 65 IL 5/10-2.1-9.

Successful Applicants must participate in a remote on-line written examination available:
between Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 9:00 AM and Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 4:00 PM
