Salary:

Starting pay for officers with a minimum of two years of qualifying service: $70,296.13 as of May 1, 2024

Starting pay for officers with a minimum of five years of qualifying service: $90,525.63 as of May 1, 2024

We are offering transfer years of service up to 5 years.

Position Details

Requirements:

Be certified by the Illinois Law enforcement Training Standards Board, or be certified by another state where training and experience would qualify to become certified.
Part time Officer’s who are able to complete an 80 transition course are also eligible to apply
Have minimum of two (2) consecutive years of full-time experience with the same agency and been employed within the last four (4) years as a sworn officer.
Be a US citizen
Be at least 23 years old
Be under age 43 to apply
Be a high school graduate or possess a GED equivalent
Possess a valid drivers license
Residency Requirements - Must reside within 30 miles of the Village of Riverdale boundaries (Illinois only), within one (1) year of the time of appointment.

Must comply and successfully complete:

Character background investigation
Psychological
Medical examination, etc.
