Position Details

The Village of South Barrington is an exceptional community. Qualified candidates will partner with, protect and serve the residents and visitors of the Village of South Barrington.

The Village of South Barrington is home to The Arboretum of South Barrington Lifestyle Shopping Center, the 24-screen AMC-South Barrington Theater and Willow Creek Community Church, one of the largest congregations in the United States. South Barrington is also home to Goebbert's Farm and Garden Center. Each year Goebbert's fall festival brings thousands of visitors to our community for what many consider an annual family tradition.

Full Time Police Officer Candidate Requirements:

• At least 21 years old and under 35 years old or as otherwise permitted by law
• United States citizen
• Valid driver's license
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
• Successful completion of the Police Officer Wellness Evaluation Report (POWER) test at one of the following testing facilities within six months of the date of the orientation and written examination:
• Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy (NIPSTA) in Glenview
• Joliet Junior College in Joliet
• Triton College in River Grove

The South Barrington Police Department serves the community 24 hours a day 365 days a year but our reception window is open weekdays from 8 AM to 4 PM.
