Minimum Requirements:

• At least 21 years of age and under 35 years of age at time of conditional offer, unless exempt by state statute
• No Felony or Disqualifying Misdemeanor Convictions
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• U.S. Citizenship
• Valid Driver’s License
• Current IDPH or National Registry Paramedic license at time of conditional offer OR Current IDPH or National Registry EMT Basic license and Basic Operations Firefighter or Firefighter II with Hazardous Materials Operations issued by OSFM at time of conditional offer
• Successful completion of the Candidate Physical Ability Test with Ladder Climb Certification conducted by a licensed agency within one year due at time of conditional offer
• Must be of sound mental and physical health and meet all established standards
• Must be able to pass written test, medical examination and drug testing, and background investigation
• Must reside within 75 miles of BKFPD Station 1
• Must become a Firefighter Paramedic within 3 years of hire date 

Testing Information:

Your exam will be offered electronically, and you will take the exam in your own home. There will be multiple sessions offered and each will be proctored virtually. All sessions will be offered the week of June 3rd during business hours – it is your responsibility to ensure you have the flexibility to test during these times.
