PART-TIME POLICE OFFICER POSITIONS - FLEXIBLE SHIFTS

The Lakemoor Police Department is always seeking exceptional candidates interested in joining the ranks of our part-time officers.

The applicant will perform duties to include but not limited to:

• Enforcing traffic, criminal laws and local ordinances
• Provide emergency response as needed
• Write accurate, clear, concise and grammatically correct reports
• Handle traffic crashes
• Attend court as needed
• Handle any and all other duties assigned

Minimum qualifications include:

• 21 years of age
• U.S. Citizen
• High school graduate (or equivalent)
• Possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
• Possess a valid FOID card (or the ability to successfully obtain a valid FOID card)
• Good moral character
• Good mental and physical condition
• Possess and utilize good communication skills and sound judgement
• No felony or domestic violence convictions
• MUST BE a graduate of either a full-time or part-time sworn Illinois law enforcement officer training program, currently State of Illinois Certified (or eligible), or have the appropriate training and certification from another state that is compatible with Illinois training requirements set forth by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB)
• Currently working as a full-time police officer for an Illinois law enforcement agency; or, retired as a full-time officer from an Illinois law enforcement agency; or, laid off as a full-time officer from an Illinois law enforcement agency, or, 2 years experience as a certified part-time Police Officer

All qualified applicants will be required to:

• Pass an oral interview
• Pass a thorough background investigation
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening/psychological testing
• Possess thorough knowledge of Department policies, procedures and rules relating to the operation of the Police Dept.
• Maintain compliance with all ILETSB and Lakemoor Police Department's training requirements
