Position Details

Full-Time Lateral Police Officer

Competitive Selection Process

The Village of Lakemoor is accepting applications for the purpose of establishing a Lateral Entry eligibility list for the position of Police Officer.

Applicants must have two years of continuous employment as a Law Enforcement Officer with a respective agency at the date of application which is 09/27/2019.

Applicants must meet all of the following prerequisites:

• Must be able to speak and read English
• A U.S. citizen, naturalized citizen, or in the process of citizenship at time of hire
• Possess a valid Illinois driver's license
• State of Illinois certification by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board with no more than eighty (80) hours of training required by the Board for re-certification, if necessary.
• Candidates with less than 1 year of experience may be considered if the candidate has completed sixty (60) hours of college credit or has 2 years active duty military experience; in addition to, full-time sworn certified Illinois law enforcement officer experience.
• Appointment to the lateral entry eligibility list will be based on a properly submitted application and a verbal examination.
• Cooperation with an extensive background check is also required, which may include a polygraph examination.
