Hiring Lateral Police Officers

Must be a current, full-time sworn police officer with an Illinois law enforcement agency with at least two years of service. (Part-time certification does not meet this requirement)

We are a Municipal Police Department located in the southwest suburbs of Chicago that serves the City of Hickory Hills, a city of approximately 14,000 people with a mix of residential, commercial, and light industrial areas set upon 3 square miles. We enjoy a great relationship with our residents and businesses.

We have 28 sworn officers that have the opportunity to train in a variety of specialty roles, such as:

• Detective
• Task Force Officer
• SWAT Officer
• Traffic Officer/Accident Reconstructionist
• Evidence Technician
• Firearms instructor
• Field Training Officer
• School Resource Officer
• Bicycle Officer

We work closely with our neighboring communities and belong to several Multi-Jurisdictional Task Forces such as:

• South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force
• Southwest Major Case Unit
• Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team
• 5th District SWAT team
