Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedic Testing for Hiring List Announcement

The Village of Homewood, IL will hold a written examination on Saturday, September 21, 2024 to establish a to establish a two-year eligibility list for the position of Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedic for the Village of Homewood.

The Village is seeking to hire three (3) Firefighter/Paramedics.

Qualifications:

• Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or an alien admitted for permanent residence or lawfully admitted for temporary residence and who produces evidence of intention to become a U.S. citizen.
• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age & under 35 years of age at the time of the written examination (unless exempt from age limitation according to state law, proof of which must be included with application submittal).
• Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
• Applicants must also provide a CPAT identification card as verification of successful completion of the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) with an issuance date between September 21, 2023 and September 21, 2024. Proof of CPAT must be shown at the time of testing.

Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m., Orientation begins at 8:30 a.m. and the written examination begins immediately following the orientation, but no later than 9:00 a.m. Doors will be closed for check-in promptly at 8:15 a.m. Park in the main parking lot and enter the main doors. Any applicant arriving after 8:15 a.m. WILL NOT be admitted. Applicants already in the check-in line at 8:15 a.m. will be permitted to take the examination. Applicants must present their driver's license at the time of check-in in order to take the examination.
