Firefighter/Paramedic Minimum Requirements:

• $35 application fee
• U.S. Citizenship
• No felony convictions
• Valid Illinois driver’s license
• High school diploma/GED
• 21 to 35 years of age by date of hire unless otherwise exempt by statute
• OSFM Illinois Firefighter II/Basic Operations Firefighter Certificate
• IDPH Paramedic License due at time of hire
• CPAT and Ladder Climb certification due at time of hire

Virtual Testing Information:

Your exam will be offered electronically, and you will take the exam in your own home! The session will be offered during business hours within the week of November 4th. There will be no evening or weekend session available – it is your responsibility to ensure you have the flexibility to test during these times. In late October you will receive an email with instructions on how to schedule and prepare for the exam.
