Position Details

Several Positions Immediately Available

The Village of Indian Head Park, Illinois is currently seeking applications from exceptional individuals for the position of part-time Police Officer to serve our small bedroom community.

The applicant will perform duties to include but not limited to:

  • Enforcing traffic, criminal laws, and local ordinances
  • Provide emergency response as needed
  • Write reports
  • Handle traffic crashes
  • Attend court as needed
  • Handle any and all other duties assigned

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Individuals who are currently certified as a peace officer by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.
  • 21 years of age+
  • U.S. Citizen
  • High school graduate (or equivalent)
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
  • Valid FOID card
  • Excellent moral character
  • Positive attitude
  • Good mental, emotional, and physical condition
  • No felony or domestic violence convictions
  • No negative work history (i.e., termination, resignation while under investigation, or resignation subsequent to an investigation)

All qualified applicants will be required to:

  • Pass an oral interview
  • Pass a thorough background investigation, including possible credit check
  • Pass a pre-employment screening, including:
    • Physical exam
    • Drug screening
    • Psychological evaluation
    • Polygraph
