  Lateral pay is available dependent on years of experience, ultimately being decided under discretion of the Chief of Police.

Position Details

The Village of Williams Bay is seeking a qualified candidate to assume the responsibilities of serving the village, organization, and community members. A qualified candidate will have a forward leading mindset and share the ability to exceed expectations within the community and department.

Williams Bay maintains ongoing community support and offers a unique opportunity to provide positive law enforcement impact through engagement opportunities and police contacts.

Responsibilities:

• Perform law enforcement functions to service the village.
• These duties may include but are not limited to direct saturated patrol tactics to accommodate seasonal changes in traffic, population, and tourism; enforcement and knowledge of state and local laws; engagement in community orientated policing programs; investigations; and other various self-initiated field activity.
• Officers are expected to assist their peers in a team atmosphere but also maintain law enforcement expertise to perform functions with limited supervision and insight.

• Ability to perform essential functions of this position
• Ability to possess a firearm
• Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
• Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Clear and concise speech
• Driver's license
• Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
• Good driving record
• Good physical condition
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
• No domestic abuse convictions
• No felony convictions
• React quickly and effectively to stressful situations
• U.S. citizen
• Vision correctable to 20/20

IL certified candidates must take Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board (LESB) Reciprocity Exam.
