Eligibility Requirements:
- Authorized to work in the United States under federal law or qualified under the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) for deferred immigration action.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Possess a high school diploma (or its equivalent).
- Minimum of 21 years of age and under 35 years of age by date of written exam unless otherwise exempt from such age limitation as provided in Section 5/10-2.1-6 of the Fire and Police Commissioner’s Act.
- Possess a valid POWER test card dated no earlier than December 10, 2023.
- Eyesight no worse than 20/40 or corrected by (and must comply with) ACOEM guidelines for Law Enforcement Officers.
- Ability to pass all selection and training requirements. New officers must sign a reimbursement of expenses agreement contract if they leave within three years.
- Not have been convicted of a felony, a crime of moral turpitude, or any misdemeanor specifically listed in Section 10-2.1-6 of the Act, 65 ILCS 5/10-2.16 as amended.
- Not be a habitual user of illegal narcotics or drugs or intoxicating beverages or be an illegal gambler.
- Not be physically or mentally unable to perform the duties of the position of police officer.
- All portions of the testing process are mandatory. Failure to attend and successfully complete any portion of the process will result in elimination from employment consideration.

Testing will take place at:
Lake Park East High School
Sign-in opens at 8:00 AM. Candidates must arrive by 8:30 a.m. with a photo ID (driver’s license, state ID) to sign-in and a #2 pencil. No late admittance.
Additional Testing and Interview Information:
Candidates successfully passing the written exam must attend the mandatory additional testing component and Board of Police and Fire Commission Interviews on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
The testing will take place at the Roselle Police Department. Candidates must be in the building before 8:00 am. The test will consist of a report writing exercise, an application review and an interview with the Board of Police and Fire Commissioners. Candidates must achieve a passing score of 70% on the report writing test to move to the application review, which is pass/fail, in order to move to the next phase of testing. The written test will be weighted at 70% and the interview with the Board of Police and Fire Commissioners will be weighted at 30%.
