  • All FT members are paid at a rate of 1.5x their normal hourly rate on Holidays. Any FT member who is on a hire back or force back is paid at Double Time on a Holiday.
  • Education Reimbursement
  • The PHPFD offers college tuition reimbursement to members of Local 700.
  • Insurance
  • Blue Cross & Blue Shield. Local 700 members pay 15% of the premium.
  • HSA Contribution
  • The PHPFD contributes $3,000 annually to members of Local 700.

We are centrally located in a dense area of fire departments. The PHPFD annually responds to 25 structure fires, 17 extrications, and 27 cardiac arrests. 

In 2023 the PHFPD residents voted yes to a $10 million dollar bond referendum. The department has ordered (2) new ambulances (arriving in 2025). The PHFPD just took ownership of a new 107’ Pierce Ascendant. The PHFPD is currently working with architects on a 6+ million-dollar station renovation at the headquarters station.
