NOTICE OF POLICE DEPARTMENT PART-TIME POLICE OFFICER HIRING IN THE VILLAGE OF ROCKDALE COUNTY OF WILL, STATE OF ILLINOIS
The Rockdale Police Department will be accepting applications for part-time police officer.
Applications are available starting September 18, 2017 at:
Rockdale Village Hall 79 Moen Avenue Rockdale, Illinois
9:00 AM until 5:00 PM
A $20.00 application fee is DUE AT TIME OF APPLICATION PICKUP. No application will be handed out without the fee being paid. Cash only.
If you have previously completed an application, and were considered for part-time police officer then you would need to complete another application to be considered for this round of hiring.
DUTIES & BENEFITS:
Enforcing traffic, criminal laws and local ordinances
Provide emergency response as needed (calls for service, traffic crashes, etc.)
Complete reports
Handle any and all other duties assigned as well as attending court when required
Flexible scheduling available
All uniforms and duty equipment is supplied to include soft body armor and duty weapon
Starting pay of $17.00 per hour regular time and $25.50 for overtime. Contract being negotiated currently
Overtime pay for holidays worked per current I.C.O.Ps. contract. (12 observed holidays including officers birthday)
Officers considered for full time employment must begin employment as part time
8 hour shifts
Part time officers have ability to bank up to 40 hours to be used at later date if wanted to
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must be of good moral character, sound health, and no criminal convictions or court supervision for offenses criminal in nature. Must be able to read and write the English language, must possess a valid driver’s license without record of suspension or revocation in any state.
Applicants must have certification from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board as a certified police officer.
Applications for the list will be received for a non-refundable application preparation and processing fee of $20.00 at the Rockdale Village Hall, 79 Moen Avenue, Rockdale, Illinois. Applications will be received on a “First Come, First Served” basis and placed on an initial list, in that order.
APPLICATIONS WILL ONLY BE CONSIDERED IF COMPLETED CORRECTLY AND COMPLETELY. ALL FIELDS MUST BE COMPLETED. AN INCOMPLETE APPLICATION IS THE NUMBER 1 REASON THAT APPLICANTS ARE NOT CONSIDERED FOR EMPLOYMENT.
YOU MUST ALSO INCLUDE THE LIST OF ITEMS REQUESTED IN THE APPLICATION PACKET, AND YOU MUST HAVE A CURRENT POLICE OFFICER CERTIFICATION ON FILE WITH THE ILLINOIS LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING AND STANDARDS BOARD.
