Position Details

The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners of the Village of Indian Head Park will be accepting applications and resumes (if available) for the purpose of establishing a Lateral Police Officer list for the position of full time Police Officer at the Village of Indian Head Park Police Department.

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizen
• Valid Driver's License
• No felony convictions and be of good moral character (Note: a misdemeanor or serious traffic offense may also disqualify applicants from further consideration)
• Full time sworn police officer of a regular police department in any municipal, county, university, or state law enforcement agency
• Must be a certified P/O by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board
• Must have been with their respective law enforcement agency within the state for at least two (2) years AND within the last (5) years
• Minimum of 21 years of age
• Must have proof of High School Diploma, GED Certificate or High School Proficiency Statement and shall have received a minimum of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university at time of application
• Demonstrate Physical agility and muscular coordination
• Ability to furnish the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners with a copy of your birth certificate, high school diploma/GED Certificate or College diploma and ILETSB Certification; Veterans must furnish a Military DD214 form; These documents become the property of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners
• There is no residency requirement

When the recruitment cycle ends on 09 October 2019, all candidate applications will be reviewed and candidates deemed as most qualified will be invited to continue on in the Village's assessment process. This process will include a background investigation and oral interview.

Post employment medical examinations including drug screening, post polygraph testing and post psychological examinations will also be utilized after job offers are given.
