Minimum Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Valid Driver's License
• Valid FOID Card (Firearm Owners Identification)
• 21 years of age by the date of the final eligibility list being posted unless qualified for an exemption
• Under 35 years of age at the time of hire unless otherwise the candidate has a qualified exemption
• Vision in each eye correctable to 20/20
• Candidates must pass the Illinois Power Test as described by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board or provide a valid POWER Test Card. ***Applicants will be notified after February 15, 2025 of scheduling details for the Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report Testing (POWER Testing) and written exam. Valid Power Test Card from any Illinois recognized agency should be disclosed upon scheduling to receive a waiver from performing test.***
