How about working as a Community Service Officer (C.S.O.) for the Geneva Lake Law Enforcement (GLLEA)?
GLLEA is a fully functional seasonal Police Department. We operate on the waters of Geneva Lake from April through October each year.
GLLEA is hiring C.S.O. positions for the 2025 season.
GLLEA is made up of various semi-retired Officers, active experienced Officers, and Officers new to the law enforcement profession. GLLEA operates a minimum of one Police Patrol Boat per shift from Memorial Day to Labor Day and when staffing permits a second Patrol Boat on weekends and holidays. Every shift consists of two Officers or one Officer and one C.S.O. working together on a patrol boat with the normal shifts being scheduled from 8:00am - 4:00pm and 4:00 pm - 12:00 am. Hours are subject to change and may differ for special assignments.
Duties and responsibilities for GLLEA C.S.Os.:
These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.
- Primarily assist the sworn Officer in enforcement of Wisconsin State Statutes, Wisconsin Chapter 30 pertaining to boating and GLLEA ordinances.
- Assist in accurate and concise boating crash reports, citations, and long form reports.
- Protecting persons safety and property.
- Assisting Officers in investigating complaints, incidents, accidents, taking photographs, providing emergency first aid whenever necessary.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
C.S.Os. must:
- Attend paid pre-season training
- Have or obtain a Wisconsin Boaters Safety Certificate
- Be able to operate a Police Patrol boat
- Have a valid driver's license
Qualifications:
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to perform essential functions of this position.
- Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment.
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Clear and concise speech
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- No domestic abuse convictions
- No felony convictions
- React quickly and effectively to stressful situations.
- U.S. citizen
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
