Position Details

The Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is hiring for the position of: DEPUTY SHERIFF

A Sheriff's Deputy performs a variety of complex law enforcement duties, enforces State laws and County ordinances for the protection of life, health, safety, welfare and property.

Deputies with the Sheriff's Office provide services through Patrol and Investigations.

ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES MUST:

• Driver’s License: Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Age Requirements: Be twenty-one (21) years of age. An applicant may apply at age twenty (20), provided that no applicant shall be eligible for employment certification until their 21st birthday. There is no maximum age.
• Education: Must have a High School Diploma or have a certification of equivalency
• Character: Must have no felony convictions, nor domestic violence criminal convictions, or dishonorable discharge from the military.
• Testing: Must be able to participate and successfully complete all phases of the testing--which includes a physical agility test, written examination, oral interviews, pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
