Firefighter Application and Test Dates

Minimum Requirements:

At least 20 years of age and have not reached the age of 35 by Monday, April 28, 2025, unless exempt by state statute. Note – must be 21 years of age at date of hire
U.S. Citizen
High school diploma or equivalent
No felony convictions
Valid driver’s license
Must attend and successfully complete the physical assessment fire zone test hosted by the Jacksonville FD at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 26th. Testing will take place at the Jacksonville Fire Department, 200 West Douglas Ave. Jacksonville, IL 62650

The test will include physical training, climbing ladders, and the dragging and lifting of heavy weight.
Additional information will be provided to applicants at a later date.

Examination is for the purpose of establishing an eligibility list for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic. Eligibility list will remain in effect for two (2) years.
