• Starting salary can be based on FULL TIME fire department experience:

  Entry Level: $66,514.53 - 5/1/2025

  Lateral - FF/PM:

  • 1-2 years of FULL TIME FF/PM experience: $78,880.98 - 5/1/2025
  • 2+ years of FULL TIME FF/PM experience: $85,901.38 - 5/1/2025

Position Details

IMMEDIATE HIRES

Department Overview:

The department is comprised of (25) career fire personnel. Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, (3) Captains, (3) Lieutenants and FF/PM's. Some are assigned to the Haz Mat team, Technical Rescue and Arson team. The department averages 3,500 emergency runs per year. (6) minimum is the daily shift staffing. The engine responds auto-aid to neighboring departments like Maywood, Hillside, North Riverside and Bellwood.

Additional Preference Points given for:

• Proviso Township residency (proof of the last 12 months)
• BOF
• Paramedic
