JOB PURPOSE:

• In a non-sworn capacity, to support various operations in the Police Department; Investigate potential violations and enforce municipal and state codes, ordinances, and regulations related to nuisance abatement, animal control, parking, zoning code violations.
• May also assist the Patrol Division with cold criminal / non-criminal reports, traffic direction, non-injury traffic crashes, and speed enforcement utilizing the radar / photo speed enforcement vehicle.
• This position will work a compressed schedule of 32 hours per week, and must be available to work days, weekends, and evenings as needed. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or (G.E.D.);
• Prior code enforcement, animal control, community service officer, or similar public service position preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior animal care management or handling experience preferred.
• Outstanding customer service skills required.
• Knowledge of codes, ordinances, laws, and regulations pertaining to nuisance abatement, animal, parking control, and zoning preferred.
• A minimum of three years' related experience will be required to be considered for a CSO II position. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Possession of valid driver's license and good driving record.
