Salary:

• Starting: $88,559

  After 6 Years: $122,106

  For full-time Officers Certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB): Upon completion of the Field Training program, officers will be placed in the wage schedule based on their years of qualified previous experience, up to the maximum at 6 years.

  Top Pay: $122,106 per 2025 FOP Contract (additional stipends available if eligible)

  Yearly Uniform Allowance: $950

  Benefits:

  • Two weeks of vacation after one year. Any newly hired employee will be given a  pro-rated amount (based on date of hire until December 31st of that calendar year) upon 30 days of employment.

Lateral Level Police Officer Hiring Process:

The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners of the City of Batavia is seeking applicants for the purpose of creating a Certified Police Officer-Lateral Eligibility List for Hiring.

Complete Mandatory On-line Written Examination:

Tuesday, May 6, 2025, through Thursday, May 8, 2025

Minimum Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship – OR – authorized to work in the U.S. under federal law – OR qualified under the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) for deferred immigration action;
• Must be or have previously been a full-time sworn officer of a police department in any municipality, county, university or State law enforcement agency for at least two (2) years. If separated from service, must have left in good standing within the last two years;
• Certified by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board;
• Have a High School diploma or equivalent;
• Possess a valid Illinois driver’s license;
• No felony convictions (or any misdemeanor conviction involving moral turpitude);
